Steeped in magic and love, the story, with extremely popular music by Mendelssohn and a phenomenal ballet ensemble on stage, is one of the most-watched and listened works at the Baltic Opera.
Shakespeare's work, which is the starting point for the production, focuses on the drama of lovers - Hermia and Lizander - who, looking for an escape in the Athenian forest from the girl's unfriendly father, mix in the everyday life of forest spirits, with Puck at the forefront. Comic ballet with mythology in the background. The performance of the Baltic Opera is inspired by the Lodz version of the ballet from 1985.
