Opera Accessible - Culture without barriers

The Baltic Opera in Gdańsk is one of 111 cultural institutions from all over Poland that will receive funds under the EU project "Culture without Barriers" co-implemented by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the State Fund for Rehabilitation of the Disabled and the Foundation for Culture without Barriers. The project aims to improve the accessibility of the offer of Polish cultural institutions for people with special needs.

The project involves comprehensive training for the institution's staff on accessibility, including audio description, and the needs of the blind and visually impaired. Audio descriptions will be prepared for two titles from the Opera's repertoire - the opera Madama Butterfly and the ballet Don Quixote, sensory walks and the website of the Baltic Opera meeting accessibility standards.
The OPERA ACCESSIBLE grant project is part of the "Culture without barriers" project implemented by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of the Disabled, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
